Indian Navy Half Marathon 2017
Race Day: 19th November 2017
Every year Indian Navy celebrates the Navy day on the 4th of December to commemorate a brilliantly choreographed and courageous attack on the Karachi harbour during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. A host of activities are organised as a part of the Navy Week and various themes have been used over the years and this year the aim is to promote the spirit of healthy living amongst the citizens.
This year a half marathon has been planned with an emphasis on the physical fitness and healthy living for a globally rising nation as part of the Navy week. The aims of the event are promotions of healthy lifestyle amongst citizens and cement the symbiosis between the armed forces and the civil society.
Our Race Pilot – Capt S Ramanan:
Captain S Ramanan (age 45) who started brevets in Nov 2014 and has completed a total distance of 3800 kms. He has traversed through 11 cities and has undertaken 12 brevets and achieved the super randonneur title in 2015-16 season. Capt S Ramanan will be leading a group of 15-20 professional riders as pilot riders during the race.
